James Smedley | DirectorJames has an astute business background and could see that purchasing Abbott’s Printing was a sound business decision. His success since purchasing Abbott’s comes from surrounding himself with staff who are amongst the best in their fields, coupled with the dedication in attaining and maintaining the latest equipment to ensure quality work. James takes an active role in the business and sales assuring growth and success for Abbott & Co Printing. |

Barry Castle | Operations ManagerBarry has been in the printing trade his entire working career, completing his printing apprenticeship with a company in Melbourne. Arriving in Perth a qualified printer he worked in another company initially and joined Abbott & Co Printing in 1988. He commenced his employment on the print presses and within a short period of time Barry showed the competency and dedication to the company which stood him in good stead for the position he holds today. As Operations Manager Barry oversees the production of all jobs from the time we attain the job to despatch. His organisational skills, coupled with his ability to communicate with staff, ensure that all jobs are delivered on time and of the highest quality. The growth of Abbott’s is attributed to his expertise and level of commitment. |

Colin Lamond | Production ManagerColin commenced his printing apprenticeship in Scotland learning all aspects of his trade. With the high level of knowledge Colin had attained during his apprenticeship period in Scotland, coupled with his strong desire to learn and achieve in his work career. All this stood him in good steed when he came to Australia seeking employment in 2004. He initially worked at another printing company then in February 2007 Abbott & Co were lucky enough to gain him as our Production Manager. Because of Colin’s dedication and attention to detail it has enabled Abbott & Co to maintain the high standard in quality workmanship that is despatched to our clients. As well as being our ‘Colour Champion’, assisting us to maintain our position in the 100 Club with our ISO accreditation for colour. |

Michael Lang | Graphics/Prepress ManagerMichael is fully qualified in prepress/plate making. He commenced his employment at Gibney Graphics, Prepress Services and then with Exposure Graphic. At these companies he advanced his knowledge in neg arranging, proofing and plate making. Michael joined Abbotts Printing in 2005 as the Manager of the Prepress department, but with his expertise and eye for detail it was not long before he was made Manager of the Graphic and Prepress departments. Michael has attended many refresher courses for all aspects of his job to keep abreast of the current trends, and uphold the standard and quality of work Abbott’s is known for. Michael works closely with both Barry (Operations Manager) and Colin (Production manager) to ensure these standards are maintained. |
